Easter Egg Tree

I've been wanting to make an easter egg tree for a long time, and the picture of the above eggs (window display at Dumas, a health food store on the Grand Rue) is what I was going for. Those eggs are dyed with onion skins, I believe.

I did one egg with onion skins and it didn't turn out at all. Then I thought I might like our eggs to have a little color, but since I still like the earthy color of the onion skin eggs I bought one of the natural egg dye kits at a local grocery store. They turned nice enough, but not like I was hoping, so will try again next year.

  1. you can do some fun things with white crayons, too. The dye stays off the wax, so you can have pretty cool reverse images...
