Quick Update

It has been a busy few weeks. I spent a week in Malaysia and Emily had a friend (and her 3 kids)from Israel come for a week. There are a number of photos that I'll put on the web site either tomorrow or the next day.

Our house has sold for about the same price that we got from the company, so I guess we got a decent deal.

More updates to come soon.

Doctor's visit

Rowan and Niamh had their first Swiss doctor's appointment on Wednesday. Here are their stats.

Rowan
Height: 91cm
Weight: 13.8 kg

Niamh
Height: 74cm
Weight: 9.5 kg

There were a few differences between this doctor and those that we visted in the US.

1. The doctor didn't mind that we left our insurance cards and told us we could bring them the next time we came in.
2. No payment required
3. No nurse
4. The doctor didn't look at us like we were crazy when we told him that we hadn't given Rowan the chicken pox vaccine. In fact, they don't even offer it until age 7 here.

The doctor is going to call the hospital, get Niamh's records, and find us an English speaking allergist.

Alps!

We went to Lauterbrunnen on Thursday and stayed at the Hotel Staubbach(www.staubbach.com). It had an indoor play area for the kids and a good view of the falls. Emily and I took the tram to Schilthorn. It took about 30 minutes and required 4 different trams. The view was restricted due to weather, but I imagine it is amazing on a clear day. That afternoon we(Grammie, Bumpa, Niamh, Emily, Rowan and I) took a tram to Grutschalp and then a train over to Murren. We spent about an hour walking back to Grutschalp and took the tram back down to Lauterbrunnen. That night Niamh decided that she wasn't going to sleep in the hotel, so Emily and I took her back to Lausanne. Rowan, Bumpa, and Grammie took the train back the next morning.

Grammie Annie and Bumpa Mike!

Grammie and Bumpa(Grandpa) arrived on Saturday afternoon. Rowan spent the afternoon showing them all of his favorite things in Morges. These places include, but are not limited to the lake, the store, the ducks, the playground, the train station, the swans, and waterfalls.

We drove to Bern on Sunday. We spent about two hours walking around the old town. We saw two bears in the bear pit. Rowan isn't a big fan of bears. Einstein lived in Bern in the early 1900s. We walked by his house, but didn't go in.

House Update

The house in Seattle sold last week. I'm eagerly awaiting the sale price to be posted on the King County site so we can learn if we made a good deal.
